Types of Accounts

Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP):
A tax-deferred account designed to help Canadians save for their retirement. Contributions to an RRSP are tax-deductible, and investment income earned within the plan is not taxed until it is withdrawn.

Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA):
A flexible, registered account that allows Canadians to save and invest money tax-free. Contributions to a TFSA are not tax-deductible, but investment income earned and withdrawals from the account are tax-free.

Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP):
A tax-deferred account designed to help Canadians save for their children's post-secondary education. Contributions to an RESP are not tax-deductible, but investment income earned within the plan is tax-free until it is withdrawn for educational purposes.

Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP):
A tax-deferred savings plan designed to help Canadians with disabilities and their families save for long-term financial needs. Contributions to an RDSP are not tax-deductible, but investment income earned within the plan is tax-free until it is withdrawn.
